Laverpa at a Glance – Seasons, Flies & Water

Fast answers for anglers: when to come, what to tie on, and where to focus your casts.

Best seasons at Laverpa

Autumn (Mar–May) and spring (Sep–Nov) give the most reliable dry-fly windows: good temps, stable levels and happy fish cruising the edges.

For a deeper month-by-month view, see our Dullstroom seasons guide.

Dry flies that work here

CDC emergers, Klinkhåmers, parachute mayflies, Shuttlecocks and small terrestrials (ants, beetles, hoppers) all produce – especially along weed lines and channels.

For patterns and sizes, see our best dry flies for Dullstroom.

Where to fish on the dams

We focus your day around channels, drop-offs, weed beds and cruising lanes where fish patrol. Bank angles, wind lanes and light are used to decide which areas we fish and when.
